I first remember feeling inspired to become a therapist after being the recipient of some life saving help as teen, suffering from an eating disorder, enmeshed in unhealthy personal, familial and social dynamics. In my 20’s, while pursuing a successful marketing career, I was beginning to suffer daily aches and pains, was fatigued and continued to struggle to accept my body and feel comfortable in it. In my 30’s and 40’s, I learned and grew so much in the process of finding partnership, triumphing over age related fertility issues and ultimately giving birth to my son. My experiences with Hellerwork Structural Integration, yoga, psychotherapy, energetic work and other therapeutic healing modalities have allowed me to live with more ease, balance and peace than I could have imagined possible at one time.
.
I do what I do, because I want to help others find their way to greater health, wellness and inner peace. It’s an inspiring calling. I have been an avid student of therapeutic methods, studying numerous healing techniques over the course of the last 20 years. I also received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University in 2009, with the intention of incorporating body centered and other forms of psychotherapy into my practice. At the moment, psychotherapy, Craniosacral therapy, energetic techniques, Hellerwork Structural Integration, and Focusing technique are the modalities that I draw from most often.
.
I have worked with individuals with varied issues and hopes in 20 years of practice, ranging from chronic illness, to people simply wanting to feel better in their bodies, to those hoping to find better ways of being in relationship with themselves and others. I enjoy working with women of all ages, eating disorders, relationship issues and transitions, fertility issues and transition to parenthood. I have specialized training in working with trauma and find that many people who come to see me have suffered some sort of traumatic experience(s).
.
I bring awareness of structure, alignment, psychology, movement education and presence of spirit to my practice. Whether I am assisting someone to heal from a physical injury, helping another to unwind years of stored tension or assisting an individual suffering from emotional or relational challenges, it is my intention to help each of my clients lead more whole, balanced and healthy lives.
